Virtua Tennis 4 announced with full 3D support

Virtua Tennis 4 has been announced for PlayStation 3 and it’s going to be fully compatible with PlayStation Move and in 3D! It seems everyone is jumping on Nintendo’s motion-sensing bandwagon and trying to do it better. Sega say the fourth game in the series isn’t just about hitting the ball but also about the speed of connection, angle of the racquet and spin applied to the ball with each shot. The Wii was made for Tennis. It is a sport that comes as naturally to the Wii’s control system as it does a racket and ball, and for many avid Wii gamers it was the first game they ever experienced on the system. While Wii Sports was an eye-opener and revealed to the world the beauty of motion controls, its version of Tennis was simple and failed to offer much to anyone who knows their stuff. Virtua Tennis is back and if you’re expecting anything truly brand new with this 2009 rendition you’re going to be a bit disappointed I’m afraid. Yes we know that Virtua Tennis as an almost perfect arcade tennis game which is very easy to pick up and play but also possible to master if you play it enough, letting you beat all in your path. Virtua Tennis 2009 review

For reference the last tennis game I played most recently was Sega Superstars Tennis for Wii and whilst it was fun it neither managed to recapture the initial fun of Wii Sports Tennis nor the typical Nintendo charm found in Mario Tennis.
