Soul Calibur vandals hit London

Banksy beware, it seems some new kids are in town making street ‘art’ to promote Soul Calibur V. This image sprayed onto the Great Eastern Street wall in London’s East End took three whole days for infamous painter and decorator Jim Rockwell and his artists to complete and as well as promoting the game for Namco Bandai looks pretty cool too. The artwork measures 16 meters long and shows off new fighters to the roster Patroklos, Ezio from Assassin’s Creed and familiar bad guy Nightmare. Soul Calibur V review

I’ve always liked the Soul Calibur games because they offer something different to the usual fighting systems of games such as Street Fighter. The vertical and horizontal attacks mixed with the ability to dodge and run around opponents in 3D space works well and the characters are pretty cool to boot, my favourites being the pirate Cervantes and Voldo, the undead dude who looks like he enjoys fetish clubs. Soul Calibur V refines this fighting system even more with some gorgeous graphics and animations and a guest character in the form of Ezio from the latest Assassin’s Creed games. As...

Soul Calibur Broken Destiny

Soul Calibur Broken Destiny review

Soul Calibur on the PSP is pretty much what you’d expect from the fighting series. It has the usual roster of characters you know and maybe love including Voldo, Cervantes, Ivy, Kilik etc and this time the guest character is Kratos from God of War which is very in keeping with the series seeing as he has a couple of very big swords and that whip-type thing. The game’s always had high quality visuals and they’ve done a very good job of keeping things looking great on the handheld. Characters are bright and detailed and environments are equally great to...

Soul Calibur IV review

I love the Soul Calibur games. There’s something nice and shiny about them and it’s so easy to pick up and play that anyone can join in the fun without having to be a fighting master – I’m talking to you Virtua Fighter. Soul Calibur IV is the first game for the new batch of consoles and boy does it look pretty! All your favourite characters are there along with a few new ones and the ability to make your own character based on current characters’ fighting styles or you can modify current characters with new clothes, hair, weapons and...

Free Soul Calibur IV book

If you were one of the people screaming out for a free 68 page exclusive artwork book for Soul Calibur 4 then your screams have been heard. All you need to do is preorder Soul Calibur IV on either 360 or PS3 from direct from Ubisoft and hey presto, one free book heading your way. Free book or not, Soul Calibur 4 is looking rather sweet and with an exclusive Star Wars character in both versions (Darth Vader on PS3 and Yoda on the Xbox 360) it’s even tempting me and I don’t like beat ’em ups anymore. The Soul...
