Microsoft Kinect Xbox 360 release date

We finally have a name for Project Natal; Microsoft Kinect – it’s a different name to Natal but we all got used to Nintendo Wii right?

As we all now, Microsoft Kinect for Xbox 360 is basically their response to the success of Nintendo Wii. The future is apparently here; no more cables, no more controllers and certainly no more lazy ass sofa gaming. Kinect for Xbox 360 is a device which sits beside your television just like the Wii’s Sensor Bar but does a whole lot more besides.

The Xbox 360 Kinect features:-

  • A motion camera running at 30FPS to track your body movements
  • A separate depth camera also running at 30FPS to give 3D information to the XBox
  • 4 microphones for ultra-sensitive voice recognition

Not only does your body becomes the controller requiring you to move around just as you would in real life, Kinect is also a brand new navigation interface for your Xbox 360, say hello to Minority Report and finally the chance to verbally order your Xbox 360 around. The Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect release date is currently scheduled for November 4th.
