Hooray…another new exclusive Sonic game for Wii is in development and it’s called Sonic and the Black Knight (not Sonic and the Black Night). It is going to be the second game in the storybook series that started with the exclusive Sonic and the Secret Rings for Wii. We didn’t think that was a great game but it did show potential; this time around Sonic isn’t in the deserts of Arabia, now he’s in an enchanted Arthurian medieval world with lots of sword fighting to be had about the place.
We’re not sure if it will match the Legend of Zelda or Prince of Persia in that respect, but you never know your luck. We’re expecting lots of running and sword swiping; we hope that Sonic and the Black Knight for Wii will be compatible with the Wii MotionPlus add-on for some ultra realistic weapon wielding, even if it isn’t that realistic – being able to give Doctor Robotnik (Eggman) a damn good thrashing around the chops is a dream come true for Sonic fans. There isn’t a proper Sonic and the Black Knight release date yet but it’s currently pencilled in for a spring 2009 launch.
