In a surprise announcement that has stunned everyone in gaming circles; Midway have announced their new addition to the Mortal Kombat franchise, Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. Teaming up with Warner Bros (the owners of DC Comics), we can expect characters such as Superman and Batman to battle alongside and against current favourites such as Scorpion and Liu Kang. This move will no doubt be a kick in the teeth for the Japanese games studio Capcom who previously partnered with DC Comics to produce their hit game Marvel vs. Capcom. Gore fans will be sad to hear that the game only features a handful of blood and no fatalities; but considering Midway have exhausted every possible death routine ten times over, this is probably not a bad thing. PS3 and Xbox 360 Owners can expect to be playing this title later this year.
